In fiscal year 2024, we initiated an ICT education project and robot programming education to a girls' school in Lalitpur as a first attempt to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education especially for female students. The school building makes use of part of the Patan Palace building as the school's main gate and exterior wall which is registered as a World Heritage Site. It is the only public girls' school in Lalitpur Metropolitan City with approximate 250 students in total. This time, we provided 16 sets of computers, displays, keyboards, peripheral devices, etc., and created an environment where students can learn using E-Learning digital materials. In addition, we decided to hold a course on robot programming education for teachers to promote its use in schools. We have heard encouraging comments from students, such as, "I came to school even during winter break to use the computers," and "I now know how to learn about computers. I have a friend who cannot come to school every day due to family circumstances. Accordingly, when she comes to school, I can explain how to use them. I'm happy to be able to teach her." We will continue to support these girls in order to further expand their educational opportunities.
